I don't know why I instantly became upset after reading "The Clan of the One-Breasted Woman." But only sentences into the article, and my hate for humanity increased three-fold. I have complete faith in our race to destroy the Earth entirely. I was thinking as I was walking to class about what would happen if everybody in the United States disappeared one day. Who would take on the burdoe of inhabiting this place? And would they continue as being the super-power of the world? If so, would they continue on a destructive path, or would they take a more ecological stance and work backwards to try to fix the problems already created?
What about the wildlife? Who says they won't one day evolve to form their own animalistic societies? If they, one day, go through their own Enlightenment who is to say that they would or would not conserve or destroy thier own habitat. I would like to think that if all the flora and fauna in the world were to take over one day, that they would do it in the best sustainable way possible. I would be all for the animal take over, at least the would appreciate it. Hypothetically.

If I could fly around the world. I would do it in a split second. I suppose I will settle for running and leaping off of the edge of a mountian above Queenstown, New Zealand.

Speaking of jumping off of things, I wanted to jump from this bridge into the water. But we only rested at Kanuka picnic area for a brief moment and continued to Nelson to swim at the beach instead of hurting ourselves by diving off a bridge.

I had an urge to cry at the sight of so many fallen leafs. Perhaps I have just been too busy or too drunk or too tired to appreciate the color change. Or maybe the world just wanted to skip that step and go straight to leafs lining the sidewalks without the colorful stage in between. Either way, crying is not appropriate on a bus full of people. Nor is it appropriate to want to cry while walking to class. Sometimes I don't know what to think. I wish I could explain, but I will cover up my worries with pictures of good times.

I adore all of these people. Claire is trying to pull me into the picture while Eric is double fisting his beers, Dave is sandwiched in the middle, and Aaron is just being cool.

We were getting ready for a black and white dance party, that we never actually made it to..

I love Michigan State. And I love living with Stephanie. And I love tailgating. And I love crowd surfing in the football stadium. And I love meeting new people. And I am not going home for winter break, I am going to NEW ZEALAND!!

This is Bobby. He is doing a handstand in the hallway. And although he has an ipod with his headphones on, there is a good chance that he isn't actually listening to music.

The proper way to handle hiding inappropriate objects when the family comes to visit.

What's funny is that this was a completely sober adventure. Why we decided to put my bra on the penguin, we will never know. But it stayed there for way longer than it needed to.

This was a very wet game against Notre Dame with a horribly disappointing ending.

Two different guys, doing the same dumb thing. Dropping a remote over your head to prove your manliness.

In the Sequoia National Park.. This was just a baby sequoia perhaps a 100 years old.

Due to the extreme heat we had quick intense thunderstorms everynight. They only lasted about 10 to 15 minutes and then moved on to another mountian.

We started on up the left side and snaked around this entire loop of mountian.

It's humorous listening to people at work. Griping about their children and whatnot. Talking about how some girl is a bad influence on their sweet and innocent daughter. Or how their son is a horrible liar despite what he thinks when he steals his fathers truck and doesn't clear the mileage. I guess it's just a matter of perspective.
Well, I am back from California. Which was absolutely amazing. I had a wonderful time, although another west coast trip is definitely in order with a group of friends. It would be an entirely different and fabulous experience. Probably way less funded though..
I am at work right now, as always. Won't you be a doll and drop me a line? schind16@msu.edu or at any of my random online entertainment.. It will make my day, I promise.

I leave for California tomorrow afternoon. I am excited to get out of the office. That sounds ridiculous of me, but it's true. I will be back to Michigan super late Sunday the 30th. With just enough time to get a few hours of sleep in before it's back to the office for me. But I think/hope by that point I will be satisfied enough with my trip to accept my responsibilities and come back willingly. I remember last time I went to Cali I had to resist the urge to skydive out of the airplane windows in order to stay in the mountains.
If anyone knows exciting things to do in either Los Angeles, Malibu, or San Francisco and reads this before I leave, you should give me some tips and ideas! I pretty much have the nightlife to embrace by myself once I am done backpacking. So suggestions would be amazing!

I'll be sure to post some of the pictures when I get back :)

I received a telephone call today from Cognasta Rovers and Associates Environmental Engineering Firm telling me that I am hired for their summer internship. (!!!) I am going to be one tired girl starting June 5th because it is an 8 to 5 job. But I am psyched. It seems to work out better this way, because last night my parents had a nice long discussion with me about how I come home too late. Or too early, in my case.. I have been waltzing in my house anywhere between 4:00 and 7:00 in the morning. I suppose being at work at 8:00 in the morning will start to regulate my late nights. Weekends are for going crazy now.

I don't know why I don't fall madly in love with boys who dance with me in the rain. And I don't know why drug induced sleep is more appealing to me. I start writing things down and cross them out again. I woke up a few nights ago from some dream and wrote down "I do. I wish. I could." and then proceeded to cross it out again. I wish I knew what I was thinking at that very moment. I can only imagine.
Maybe I want to party to stop thinking so much. Maybe I want to take a road trip to escape from myself. Maybe I want to get all dolled up and walk around town winking at people for amusement.
But really, I have decided that I am a walking contradiction. Why else would I yearn for romance and dismiss men in the same blink of an eye?

On a separate note. I turn 19 on June 23rd. I am thinking wild and crazy dance party at my house?

I am officially moved out. and I am now a sophomore at michigan state university. I was not expecting to have to say no to crack on my last night. But that is what college is about. Surprises. I don't want to go home. That's pretty much the story of my life. Apparently last night after Claire and Mary pretty much dragged me back to the room, I went wandering down the hallway and stumbled into my friend Kyles room. I don't know how long I talked to all the guys in the hallway, but I do remember being unable to stand. And them getting a kick out of it, and then becoming worried. Because eventually, I can't remember who, but one of them told me I needed to go back to my room to go to sleep and I must have started yelling that I don't want to go back to my room. So he picked me up and threw me over his shoulder and carried me down the hall to my room. There is way more to this story that I am not going to type out. But I do love telling my drunken stories. So I will tell the tale if you ask.
On a completely different note; I was studying all day today. If by all day I mean going extreme mini golfing instead. ;) Actually, I did study a whole lot today. It is definitely needed, my finals are going to kick my ass this semester. But the mini golf extravaganza was well worth it. champagne and checkered pants complete my day.

Empty Fortune

The other day I ordered chinese food and generally it comes with a fortune cookie. I don't typically eat the cookie, but I do enjoy the fortune. However this time, I got a fortune cookie back full of air. It was a perfectly perserved empty fortune cookie. I am pretty sure that my fortune is clear; I am missing something in my life.

I have come to the realization that I need to spend more time paying attention in class. Although I find this way much more entertaining.

I want something new. I have been so standoffish to anybody who shows interest and yet I throw myself into fantasy's at all hours of the day. I am not going to lie, I have been known to daze off mid conversation. I have found that I love relaxing by myself but only when I know there is nothing else exciting going on. I hate the feeling that I am missing out on something, regardless if it is relevant. I have been thinking too much lately. It makes me doubt whether or not I want to bury myself in people again.
I just want something new, that is mine.

I absolutly adore my new room mate, Mary. We have had an entire drunken week together, and it was "passionately steamy" according to how we know each other on facebook. ;)
We wrote "Mary and Lisa are fucking sexy! leave us a message!" on our white board. And someone erased sexy so it just says we are fucking and to leave us a message. We got a kick out of it, so we left it up there. If we don't answer our door, you know what we are up to ;)
